After a long career in geology, Steve decided to rock the world of fiction. His debut novel Cardinal House is inspired by a sabbatical, during which he worked as a staff member at an addiction rehab program, much like the one in the novel.

His short stories cover a variety of themes ranging from the fantastical and dystopian to semi-autobiographical and humans-grappling-with-key-life-choices.

Born near the Canadian border in northern Maine, Steve has been a conservationist and outdoor enthusiast since he could walk. When not writing or playing outdoors, Steve loves to travel, explore new geologic terranes, and develop story ideas for the next best-seller.
